​Christian Sellar is a Full Professor of Public Policy Leadership at the University of Mississippi whose career combines internationally engaged scholarship with nearly two decades of institutional leadership, interdisciplinary program development, international partnerships, and faculty governance.

Personal

​A son of Monfalcone, Italy, I built my career and life in the United States. I am a Geographer and a  Full Professor of Public Policy Leadership at the University of Mississippi. I am married to Shuang Cheng; we have a son, Augustine.


SELECTED INSTITUTIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Led development of departmental strategic plan aligned with university priorities.


Negotiated and implemented five-year institutional partnership between the University of Mississippi and the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli.


Co-authored university policies adopted by senior administration, leading to the establishment of the Ombuds Office and funds to support faculty excellence.


Served in university-wide research development leadership role, leading to the attraction of external resources for the establishment of an environmental studies major and others.


Developed interdisciplinary graduate program proposal aimed at increasing enrolment.


Built collaborations among academic units and central administration. 


Led a faculty support group to mentor junior colleagues to support the department's research mission.
